Colin Snailham ZTL Construction Director

We’re pleased to share the news that Colin Snailham has been appointed Construction Director at ZTL, following a period of sustained growth across our business.

Colin joined ZTL seven months ago as Construction Manager and brings nearly 21 years of experience in the civil engineering industry. His background includes a wide range of infrastructure and groundworks projects, having progressed from site engineer to senior leadership roles. His promotion reflects both his technical understanding and a strong alignment with ZTL’s values.

As Construction Director, Colin will take responsibility for the delivery of our projects across the North and Midlands, working closely with our clients, delivery teams, and design partners. He will focus on ensuring that every project is approached with the right technical insight and commercial awareness, while maintaining the high standards our clients expect.

Speaking about his new role, Colin said:

“My priority is making sure our delivery teams have the support and structure they need to do their jobs well. We want to be involved early, understand the scope and constraints properly, and give clients clear, efficient options that are grounded in experience. My role is to make sure we stay practical, stay focused, and deliver projects that work on every level.”

Alongside operational delivery, Colin will continue to support one of our core commitments—developing the next generation of construction professionals.

“There’s already a strong culture of progression at ZTL and within the Applebridge Family as a whole,” Colin added. “We’ve seen first-hand the impact of investing in apprenticeships and internal development. I want to help build on that by continuing to create opportunities for staff to learn, grow, and move forward in their careers.”

Chris Brown, Managing Director of the Applebridge Family, commented:

“Colin brings a balanced, methodical approach that fits perfectly with how we operate. He understands the demands of project delivery but also takes the time to develop people and build strong, accountable teams. We’re confident he’ll play a key role in the next stage of ZTL’s journey.”

Colin’s appointment comes as ZTL opens a new office in the Midlands and takes on an increasing volume of civil engineering, remediation, and earthworks schemes across the region. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our reputation and deliver value-driven solutions for our clients.
